ROMPOX® – D2000 is a heavy vehicle rated, two-component Jointing Mortar suitable for public surfaces and all vehicular loading applications up to 25t. ROMPOX® – D2000 is resistant to street cleaning vehicles and allows for the quick re-opening to traffic. The compound has a strong pouring capacity that is self-compacting, water emulsifiable and suitable for 5mm (1/4”) wide joints on all natural stone and concrete surfaces. Resistant to ants, weeds, frost, de-icing salt and is pressure washer safe.

HOW-TO-APPLY ROMPOX® – D2000

1. Mixing

Pour the 55 lbs filler material into the mixing tub and start the mixing process. Whilst mixing, slowly add the ROMPOX® D2000 components into the mixture. Use professional agitator or rotary-drum mixer / compulsory mixer.

2. Add Water

Rinse both bottles with 0.5 litres of water, close, shake well, add to mix and mix for 3 minutes. After mixing for 3 minutes, add 2 litres | 0.53 gal of water. Continue mixing well for another 3 minutes. Total mixing time: minimum 6 minutes.

3. Pre-Wet

Intensely pre-wet surface. Porous surfaces as well as higher surface temperatures, require more intense pre-wetting.

4. Application

Apply the mixed pavement jointing mortar onto the pre-wetted surface by pouring out in three or four spots to optimise flow capacity. Work carefully into the joints using a squeegee/rubber slider, ensuring it passes deep into the joints and fills them completely.

5. Sweep Off

After approx. 10 minutes the excess mortar on the surface of the stones can be swept off carefully with a large, coarse broom. The correct moment for sweeping, is when white smears no longer form on the stone surface during sweeping.

6. Final Cleaning

Finally, use a soft hair broom to do a final cleaning until all residual mortar has been removed from the surface. Sweeping should be done diagonally to the joint. Do not re-use swept off material.
